In a super crowded SUV/CUV segment, I think the Murano looks best.

I recently saw one for sale and was like oh they still make that?

I mean, that is a particularly fetching shade of lipstick on that pig, but yeah.

Aesthetically, I prefer the Outlander Sport.

That looks great too. I just like the lines on the Murano better.

I see them all the time. I always go, “Hey, that looks a lot better tan it should.”

oh man

I will give you that the refreshed version looks better but it’s still a weird looking blob in my eyes.

I’d take these three in this order
![]() 03/02/2020 at 16:22 |

If you’re talking any SUV in that price range
Telluride

I generally don’t like the new RAV4, but I drive past on in Lunar Rock with the white roof everyday, and I have to say I really like it. It doesn’t show up as green in pictures tho.

Looks like they slapped Predator face on a Jeep Compass.

Same here. The RAV4 looks great in Adventure trim, the rest...not so much. Like that pic up top on the first comment in this thread looks all kinds of weird to my eyes .

Easily the DGC takes the win for best looking SUV/CUV.

I agree this looks pretty good too though but am genuinely confused - what’s the difference market segment-wise between this and the Rogue? This is a 2 row as well right? If 3 - then why this + pathfinder with that no longer being a “proper” SUV anymore?

In that size class, I would lean more toward the VW Atlas, Kia Telluride, or one of the Fords (Edge or Explorer), the Murano is just too busy

yes

That's a nice looking minivan, but I wouldn't consider it an SUV/CUV.

had me swaying your way until the Blazer.

I always think “hey that looks kinda cool” when I see one.
But then I see the rear end. The blazer is not a “hate to see her go, love to watch her leave” kinda gal. But that’s true of 99% of GM’s current line up.

The rav 4 is repulsive in person.

In person they look like a bad glitch in the matrix.

Much better space use design than the majority of SUVs..

Ahemm! I disagree.

I do like the Renny, just wish they kept the manual option.

Good looking Compact SUVs? Don’t care if they work consistently or not, the Freelander 2 and Disco Sport are just fantastic looking machines in the correct colours, plus can actually go offroad, unlike 97% of the crossover plague.
Also just because I’m weird, special mention for the Jeep Renegade Trailrated. But the base FWD auto Renegade can go straight to hell. Worse modern vehicle I’ve driven and somehow feels less responsive to throttle input than my 27 year absolute shit box project Range Rover.

go home, you’re drunk

Neither are most things people call SUV/CUVs, the majority are minivans without sliding doors.
![]() 03/03/2020 at 08:54 |

I disagree. The minivan is in a class all it's own, because it's better than most of those other vehicles. I genuinely like minivans, and that GC is the best looking of the bunch. But it isn't an SUV or a crossover. It's better than that.

I wish you could opt the manual powertrain in the Trailhawk trim.
![]() 03/03/2020 at 13:45 |

If they did I would seriously consider one. I like the Renegade, it’s a fun little offroader in the right hands, but my problem is at its price point, even with the trailhawk stuff, in the U.K. at least, it’s up against preowned Freelander 2 TD4 s, which are manuals, much comfier and with the right tyres pretty much unstoppable if you know what you’re doing. I suppose that’s not exactly fair, the Renegade is a lower tier vehicle than the Cherokee aimed Freelanders, but still, pound for pound, it’s a hard sell.

I drove a bare bones manual Renegade with a few modifications. I loved the thing. Give it a small lift and some better tires, that would be an awesome budget rig. I did a write up on it a few years ago.

I liked the R enegade, just didn’t think the interior or on road manners were nothing to write home about. Again, it’s in a very competitive market, the Freelander would be my first choice in compact SUVs, purely because stock they are brilliantly capable and can take a large amount of mods that can improve some areas like ground clearance, but the main disadvantage of the Renegade over here in the U.K. is no good manuals. And I refuse to buy a FWD SUV on moral grounds, and I don’t like the auto in the Renegade. Give the Trailhawk a manual, much better seats and a nicer, less cheap interior and it would be in my first place spot for compact SUVs.

You could get the Renegade in 4x4 and manual when it was available. Just not in Trailhawk form unfortunately. But I agree, it shows its price.

It’s like they knew what I wanted from a compact jeep and then just left me standing there, with the choice of Trailhawk but with shitty auto box or a lesser vehicle with a manual. Damn it, what did I do to FCA to make them do this?
